Twistzz Explains Why Liquid's Project Failed

Canadian star rifler Russel 'Twistzz' Van Dulken has shared his thoughts on why the previous Team Liquid roster struggled, citing issues both in and out of the game. Despite high expectations for the lineup formed before 2024, the team fell short and was disbanded after just six months.

In an interview with Pley.gg during the BLAST Fall Groups media day, Twistzz discussed the Liquid project and his former in-game leader, Casper “cadiaN” Møller. Twistzz attributed the main reason for the team’s failure to a lack of work ethic and poor team dynamics. He mentioned that the team struggled both inside and outside the game, lacking chemistry and synergy, which are essential for successful gameplay.

Reflecting on the first season of 2024, Twistzz acknowledged the challenges and expressed his eagerness for the upcoming team rebuild.

When asked about playing under cadiaN, Twistzz noted that it was a very different experience compared to his time with FaZe. This experience made him value his former teammate, karrigan, even more. Twistzz also mentioned that cadiaN excelled at making momentum calls, always trying to ensure they had the best possible chance to damage the opponent’s economy, even if not all their buys were optimal.

It was just not working inside or outside of the game. There was no chemistry or synergy. And you can’t really play the game without those two things(…) There is not that much to say about the first season of 2024. I’m just looking forward to this rebuild
