headtr1ck Criticizes MOUZ and Other Teams for Participating in Russian-Sponsored Tournaments

In a recent interview, Ukrainian player Daniil "headtr1ck" Valitov from B8 shared his thoughts with, Katsap inferno, on participating in tournaments organized by Russian betting companies. He specifically criticized MOUZ for playing in BB Dacha, a tournament sponsored by BetBoom, a Russian company.

headtr1ck's Viewpoint

headtr1ck expressed his disappointment and frustration with teams like MOUZ for participating in the BB Dacha tournament, which is sponsored by the Russian company BetBoom. He criticized the team's indifference towards the sponsorship, highlighting that they perceive it merely as a tournament in Serbia without considering the implications of associating with a Russian company. headtr1ck also lamented that major organizations are mingling with Russian teams, and although he finds it unpleasant, he acknowledges that public attention to this issue will likely fade in a week or a month.

MOUZ plays at BB Dacha and they don’t care at all. They think it’s just a tournament in Serbia and don’t mind that BetBoom is a Russian company. It’s unpleasant to see major organizations mingling with Russian teams, but I understand that after a week or a month, everyone will forget about it.

Experience with NiP

headtr1ck also shared an experience from his time in NiP. He recounted that when NiP was scheduled to play in the qualifiers for BB Dacha, they had just returned from China and were initially unaware of the tournament's details. However, upon realizing that it was sponsored by BetBoom, a Russian company, headtr1ck refused to participate on principle. He informed his team that they could find a substitute if needed. NiP respected his stance, apologized, and subsequently withdrew from the tournament.

When I was in NiP, we were supposed to play in the qualifiers for BB Dacha. We had just returned from China and didn’t know what kind of tournament it was. But when I saw it was from BetBoom, I refused to play and told the team they could find a substitute because it was a matter of principle for me. NiP apologized and withdrew from the tournament.
