G2 Esports has officially introduced its newest player - Nikita “HeavyGod” Martynenko. The Israeli eSports player will replace Nikola “NiKo” Kovacs, who recently joined Falcons, as part of a large-scale roster upgrade for G2 in 2025.
HeavyGod joins G2 after a seven-month stint at Cloud9. During this time, he helped the team qualify for the Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, demonstrating an impressive 6.9 rating on the European RMR. Overall, the player maintained an average rating of 6.5 during his time with Cloud9, which confirms his consistent play and reliability as a rifleman.
HeavyGod himself commented on his move as follows:
“Happy to be a part of the team, happy to grind for trophies. thank you all for the warm welcome and let's do our best to get some trophiesssss.”

New G2 roster and prospects
The updated G2 roster will make its debut at the BLAST Bounty tournament on January 17 in a match against B8. The organization has high hopes for the new five, hoping for better results after the ambiguous end of the 2024 season.
