G2 Esports CS2 coach Wiktor TaZ Wojtas took full responsibility for map selection in the quarterfinal match of PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 against Natus Vincere.
G2 decided to remove Mirage and Inferno from the map list, leaving themselves with Ancient versus NaVi, a map they traditionally play well on. However, the team's performance on this map did not live up to expectations, which led to a defeat with a score of 1-2.

After the loss, G2 captain Rasmus HooXi Nielsen received a wave of hate on the Internet due to the chosen cards. Many analysts and fans are perplexed by the selection, and therefore the team coach decided to respond to the accusations against the captain and the team.
Veto against NaVi was my decision. It wasn’t Rasmus. So I deserve the backlash, for this decision. I was very sure of our Ancient, but the way we played was way different from how we can play it. We lost crucial rounds, and that costed us the game. Would inferno be better? Now - probably, hard experience as a coach, should’ve done better job. Sorry to all the fans, but spare the shit talk on @HooXiCSGO we was calling great both in quarters and semis. We are playing better every event - and we will continue to grow.
While TaZ admitted that Inferno might have been a better choice in hindsight, he emphasized his belief in the team's growth.
Despite the disappointing exit from the Major, TaZ remains confident in G2's trajectory.
