On November 25, the Faceit platform officially unveiled its 2.0 update. The aim of these changes is to enhance user experience, introduce new features, and address key issues such as player toxicity, smurfing, and boosting.
Key Changes
The announcement introduced a range of innovations, from an updated interface to changes in FPL qualification. Faceit is keeping up with trends and player demands by introducing a new tracker with detailed statistics, eliminating the need for third-party tools. To achieve this, the Faceit Track BETA was introduced, offering an expanded set of metrics. Here are the main changes coming with Faceit 2.0:
- Improved interface and website performance.
- FACEIT Anti-Cheat now detects smurfs.
- The return of a queue for Premium users.
- Party Finder: a tool to find teammates before matches.
- FACEIT Stats replaced by FACEIT Track BETA.
- Clubs BETA: the ability to form clubs and create mini-FPLs.
- New FPL participants weekly based on the highest ELO in each region.
No Smurfs
A major focus of the update is combating smurfing, which disrupts gameplay and hinders newcomers' growth. The Faceit anti-cheat system now uses artificial intelligence and additional tools to detect players violating rules.
Upon first detection, a suspicious player will have 48 hours to verify their main account. If a second violation is found, all of the user’s accounts will be banned.
