BIG player Can "kyuubii" Ali commented on the team's qualification for the IEM Katowice 2025 Group Stage in a post-match interview for Bo3.gg. He also spoke about the team's preparation for the new season, his relationship with teammates, and how BIG will get ready for the next stage of the event.
Congratulations on making it to the group stage! How much do you think your team has improved since the start of the season? Did you have a bootcamp?
At the beginning of the season, we had a bootcamp to prepare for BLAST Bounty. We only played two online official matches before Katowice, which is our first LAN experience. The bootcamp was crucial—it helped us get used to winning and losing officials and understanding how to adapt after a loss. After that, we had a few days of online practice, but no bootcamp before IEM Katowice.
How is communication within your team, both in and out of the game?
Our communication is great. We speak German both in and outside the game, and the atmosphere is really positive. We're not just teammates—we're close friends, which makes everything more enjoyable.
Now that you've reached the group stage, what’s next? Will you rest or work on fixing issues?
We'll definitely fix some issues, but we’ll also take a bit of time to rest and review our games. It’s my first IEM Katowice, so I’m really proud of our performance. After losing our opening match, we managed to bounce back and qualify, which is a great achievement for the team.
What are the main aspects you want to improve before the group stage?
We want to maintain the positive mood and atmosphere we had in our last match. Even when we lost rounds, we stayed motivated and focused on the next one. That mindset helped us a lot, and we’ll keep working on it for the upcoming games.
