ESL fined Astralis $100,000 due to conflicts of interest and collaboration with HUNDEN

Following an investigation, the ESL Executive Board has decided to impose a $100,000 fine on the Danish organization Astralis for concealing conflicts of interest while receiving insider information from an unnamed employee of Heroic. It is likely that the employee in question was Nikolaj "HUNDEN" Petersen, who was a coach for a rival team in 2021.

During that time, HUNDEN leaked tactical information from Heroic to Astralis, having signed a contract with the latter three months prior, as revealed in leaked conversations.

Based on its own investigation, ESL has fined Astralis according to the regulations of the "Louvre Agreement," which includes both mentioned teams and other organizations. Additionally, the tournament operator did not find evidence that HUNDEN's actions influenced the outcome of any particular match.

Astralis cooperated with the investigation and acknowledged their responsibility, as stated by the organization's CEO.

It is worth noting that despite HUNDEN's actions being known well before today, he officially joined Astralis at the beginning of 2023, working for the team for only about five months before departing on June 21st, along with the Sports Director, Kasper Hvidt.
