ESL Announced IEM Brazil 2023

Tournament operator ESL has announced the IEM Brazil 2023. The championship will be held from April 17 to 23. Earlier, IEM Spring 2023 was scheduled for these dates. The announcement was made on the company's official website.

Sixteen teams will compete at IEM Brazil 2023. Five slots will be distributed among the winners of the qualifiers: two will play in Europe and one in Asia, North, and South America. The list of teams invited to the tournament's main stage and the closed qualification will be announced on January 18. At the competition, teams will compete for a prize fund of $250,000.

Schedule of qualifiers for IEM Brazil 2023:

Europe:

  • open qualification #1: January 27-28 (2 slots in closed qualifiers);
  • open qualification No. 2: January 30-31 (2 slots in closed qualifiers);
  • closed qualifier: February 8-10 (2 slots at IEM Brazil 2023).

North America:

  • open qualifiers #1: January 26-27 (1 slot in the closed qualification);
  • open qualifiers #2: February 11-12 (1 slot in the closed qualification);
  • closed qualifiers: February 15-16 (1 slot at IEM Brazil 2023).

South America:

  • open qualification #1: January 26-27 (1 slot in closed qualifiers);
  • open qualification #2: February 11-12 (2 slots in closed qualifiers);
  • closed qualifiers: February 15-16 (1 slot at IEM Brazil 2023).

Asia:

  • open qualifiers #1: January 21-22 (2 slots in the closed qualification);
  • open qualifiers #2: January 23-24 (2 slots in the closed qualification);
  • closed qualifiers: January 26-27 (1 slot at IEM Brazil 2023).

In the fall of 2022, the CS:GO Major — IEM Rio Major 2022 — was held in Brazil. The prize fund of $1.25 million was raffled off at the tournament. Outsiders became the champion, beating Heroic in the final with a score of 2:0. The results of the competition can be found here.

The next ESL tournament will be IEM Katowice 2023, which will be held from January 31 to February 12. At the championship, 24 teams will compete for a prize fund of one $1 000 000.
