DRILLAS team history and participation in Asia RMR
DRILLAS, a project funded by the German streamer ohnePixel, gathered in August 2024 with the goal of qualifying for the Major through the Middle East Qualifier. After passing the open stage, the team won a place in the closed qualifier at Asia RMR, defeating Onyx Ravens in the deciding match. However, with limited success in subsequent online tournaments, DRILLAS decided to make a substitution to improve their results before the big tournament in Shanghai.
SENER1: returning after a break
SENER1, who used to play as part of Bad News Eagles, returns after a four-month break. The Kosovar returns to the active game, replacing AMSALEM, the second least effective player of DRILLAS. This change could be critical for the team, which hopes to secure one of the three Major spots at the Asia RMR.
Tournament start and first match
Asia RMR starts on November 11, 2024, and DRILLAS will play their first match against Lynn Vision. The team, led by Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletniuk, is considered an outsider in the fight for one of the three places at the Major, but the replacement could give the team a new boost.
Support and reaction to the replacement
Players and fans are actively discussing the replacement in the DRILLAS lineup. The change of SENER1 has caused a number of comments about Valve's rules, as DRILLAS have three European players on the team for the Asian qualifier. However, the team said that SENER1 is listed as a replacement, which is in line with Valve's rules. Meanwhile, fans and insiders, such as ohnePixel himself, supported the decision, noting that the changes should improve the team's performance at the tournament.
DRILLAS roster before Asia RMR:
With the new roster, DRILLAS aims not only for a successful performance in the qualifiers, but also for further stability in future tournaments as the team strives to create a new history on the CS scene.
