CS2 Pro player qualified to ESL Challenger playing with a broken hand

FAVBET managed to secure 3rd-4th place at ESL Challenger League Season 48 Relegation: Europe and earned a slot in their debut ESL Challenger League Season 49 Europe in CS2. However, their journey was not without challenges. After the tournament concluded, it was revealed that j3kie played the team's last games with a broken arm.

Passage Details

FAVBET entered the qualification through the points they gathered in the regular ESEA season. In the Relegation stage, the team managed to achieve four victories, which allowed them to advance to the next stage. In the first stage of Relegation, they defeated Fire Flux and FLuffy Gangsters, but lost to jijieHao with a score of 2:0.

In the second stage of Relegation, the team also achieved two victories against Rebels Gaming and Betera Esports, but conceded to Copenhagen Wolves also with a score of 2:0. These victories guaranteed their participation in their first ESL Challenger.

j3kie's Arm Issues

After the passage, it became known that on the day of the match against CPH Wolves for entry into ESL Challenger, j3kie sustained an injury and played with a broken arm. They lost that match, but the next day against Betera, they managed to win, which became a very significant moment.

j3kie's statistics in the match against Betera were good; the player finished the match with a score of 28-20, which is impressive even in regular circumstances, but with a broken arm, it looks even more heroic. In the match against CPH Wolves, he also performed well, taking first place among his team with statistics of 32-37.

Fractures in Esports

Esports players, like regular athletes, sustain injuries, and there are many examples of this. For instance, in 2018, olofmeister from FaZe Clan missed several tournaments due to wrist issues but returned to the scene and continued to perform at a high level. Also, in 2019, Astralis player dev1ce competed in tournaments despite health issues, which did not prevent his team from dominating on the global stage.

ESL Challenger League Season 48 Relegation: Europe took place from December 10 to 15, where teams competed for 4 slots in ESL Challenger League Season 49. 12 teams participated in the tournament. More details about the tournament can be found via the link
