In Counter-Strike, no new operations have been released for over two years

The Counter-Strike developers haven't added new operations to the game for more than two years. This fact is causing concern in the community.

What is an operation in CS2?

Operations in CS2 represent a kind of addition to the game, including maps created by the community from the Steam Workshop, a unique coin, and the ability to track statistics throughout its duration. Typically, an operation includes special collections of weapon skins. The duration of each operation is on average half a year, with various intervals between them. Part of the proceeds from the sale of passes for the operation goes to the authors of the content included in the operation.

The Last Operation

The last operation added in CS:GO was Riptide. It ran from September 22, 2021, to February 22, 2022. Since then, the community has been waiting for the next operation. Previously, dataminer GabeFollower reported that the developers were preparing an operation for the official release of CS2 due to information he found in the game's code. However, CS2 has long been released to the public, and there is still no operation.

From 2013 to 2021, 11 operations were conducted in CS:GO. Sometimes developers conducted several operations in one calendar year. There has never been such a long break between operations before.
