Trouble on the way to the finals
After disappointing performances in previous tournaments, Cloud9 have managed to regain their stage presence thanks to recent successes in qualifying tournaments. Before advancing to the Thunderpick World Championship, they also qualified for the Perfect World Shanghai Major Europe RMR, defeating Johnny Speeds, Passion UA and 9Pandas.
The second indoor qualifier was a tough one for Cloud9. The team started with a 2-0 victory over Insilio, and then won the matches against GamerLegion, ALTERNATE aTTaX and BetBoom. In the final match against Zero Tenacity, Cloud9 won the first Anubis card. However, Zero Tenacity equalized on Dust2 and the fate of qualification was decided on Inferno, where Cloud9 won 13:11.
