byr9 accused Team 500 of foul play in qualifying for IEM Rio 2024

While IEM Rio 2024: European Open Qualifier 2 is underway , kONO team captain Jaroslav “byr9” Burjak shared an interesting screenshot in his telegram and suggested. That Team 500, the team they lost against, was playing under the radar.

The road to qualifying

Both teams had a tough road to reach the quarterfinals of open qualification, where 500 still won and advanced to the semifinals of qualification, where a slot in closed qualification was played.

In the first leg of Day 2, kONO sensationally defeated ENCE 13-10, while 500 in turn defeated Spirit Academy 13-8.

Accusations against 500

During the match between kONO and 500, with the score 5-1 in favor of kONO, the odds on one of the bookmakers were 4.12, which is very strange. After all, they are the favorites and leading in the score.

Someone bet hard against us, I think they played with help, especially the legendary SHiPZ won every micro moment and controlled our rotation being lurker. It felt weird, but not enough to vocalize it. And then they dropped a screenshot like this. The match was removed from the site. Bulgarian mafia is back

Past suspicions and community reaction

Previously, many people have accused Team 500 and their past roster called SKADE of playing under the radar or something else. But recently the results of the team have been bad and now they are starting to show good results again.

So far the players themselves, the organization or the TO have not reacted to this situation, but most likely they won't. The reaction to the community has been the same, no one was surprised by this because similar things have happened before.

Final Thoughts

These are the kind of moments that make a big difference to the losing team, because they could have used that chance to take it to the next level. And if a team actually used radar or something else and won just because of that, that's terrible.
