B1ad3 discusses NAVI's challenges and strategies for RMR: “If we win, it can bring too much confidence”

NAVI coach Andrii “B1ad3” Gorodenskyi shared his thoughts with HLTV about the importance of maintaining psychological stability and moderate confidence in the team before the RMR tournament. NAVI is currently ranked first in the world team rankings after reaching six finals in a row, winning three times, including the last one at IEM Rio. B1ad3 notes that overconfidence before important matches can play against them.

NAVI system and approach to the role of captain

B1ad3 shared that in his system, captains (IGLs) are not always the key decision makers during the game: “I believe that in a highly competitive game, it is important that players make their own decisions based on their feelings about the game. Instant decisions based on players' experience help to better adapt to situations on the map.”

The importance of boot camps and the role of preparation for major tournaments

B1ad3 emphasized that bootcamps remain key for NAVI, especially before RMR and other major events. “The best bootcamp we had was before the Copenhagen Major. We had a full training schedule where we could focus on all aspects of our game. But now, before the RMR, we will have to reduce our preparation time,” the coach said.

Overconfidence and caution before big events

B1ad3 also noted that victories can lead to overconfidence, which in turn can negatively affect the preparation for the RMR. “If we win this tournament, it might be too much confidence for us. We are trying to stay realistic and not fall into illusions, because we know that the competitive scene is very strong and you can lose to anyone.”

Assessment of the Falcons game and the return of s1mple

The NAVI coach also expressed his opinion on the new Falcons lineup with Olexander “s1mple” Kostyliev: “This is a very good opportunity for s1mple to return to the elite, especially with such experienced players as dupreeh and Magisk. But now they need to work more on team synergy.”

A system without a captain: is it possible?

In an interview, B1ad3 shared his thoughts on the future of the captain's role in Counter-Strike. According to him, it is possible that in the future the team will function without a traditional captain, relying on two main playmakers, but such a system requires significant preparation and a clearly structured approach.
