The second day of the ESL Challenger Melbourne 2024 saw intense battles as teams vied for playoff positions. Aurora and MIBR emerged victorious, advancing further in the tournament.

 
 

Party Astronauts delivered a dominant performance against Sunday School, sweeping them 2-0 with staggering scores of 13-1 on Nuke and 13-2 on Overpass. This victory sent Sunday School home with a 7th-8th place finish and a $2,000 prize.

MIBR also showcased their prowess in a crucial playoff qualifier against Rooster. They secured their advancement with a solid 2-0 victory, posting scores of 13:8 on Nuke and 13:6 on Vertigo.

 
 

In a rematch that mirrored their earlier encounter, Aurora faced Party Astronauts in another playoff qualification match. Aurora repeated their previous success, winning 2-0 with a decisive 13-3 victory on Inferno and a closely contested 13-11 win on Overpass. This marked their second triumph over Party Astronauts in as many days, having previously bested them on the same map.

With the playoffs set for tomorrow, the semi-final matchups are lined up with Apeks facing MIBR and Rebels going up against Aurora. The winners will proceed to the grand final, contending for a coveted slot at ESL Pro League Season 20 and a share of the $100,000 prize pool.
