The quarterfinals of the Austin Major 2025 have come to an end, leaving just four teams in the tournament. The matches on June 20 were no less thrilling than those on the 19th — once again, an underdog came out on top. Here's what the atmosphere at Moody Center was like on Day 2 of the playoffs.

Day 2 Results

Two matches took place on the second day of playoffs — both were close, and in one of them, an underdog pulled off an unexpected win.

Team Vitality vs. NAVI

The day began with Team Vitality facing NAVI. Despite the crowd's clear preference, the French side came out on top, winning 2:0. NAVI fought hard and were close to taking both maps (Mirage 9:13, Nuke 11:13), but critical mistakes and a bit of bad luck sealed their fate and sent them packing.

FaZe Clan vs. The MongolZ

The second match mirrored the first in more ways than one — even the scorelines were identical. But this time, it was the favorite that fell. The MongolZ stunned FaZe Clan with a 2:0 victory (Mirage 13:9, Anubis 13:11), earning their place in the semifinals while FaZe were eliminated.

Atmosphere at the Moody Center

The excitement started from the moment NAVI and Team Vitality entered the stage. The French squad was met with loud boos, mainly directed at apEX, while the Ukrainian lineup received thunderous applause and chants from the crowd.

The “conflict” between apEX and the audience continued throughout the match — as seen in the post-match interview.

No team enjoyed the same level of support as FaZe Clan. The crowd cheered every single kill, starting from the very first pistol round against The MongolZ.

The spotlight was especially bright on s1mple — every multikill, and even some solo frags, were met with explosive crowd reactions.
