The first day of the Legends stage at the BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, the final CS:GO major, has come to an end, and it's time to summarize the results. And the results today are simply shocking!
Let's start with the teams that shattered many predictions.
Into the Breach
Not many people believed in Into the Breach and predicted a confident 0-3 performance for them in the championship. However, today the British team finished their matches with a score of 1-1.
In their first match, they lost to Apeks on Mirage with a score of 10-16.
And then, in a sensational turn of events, they unexpectedly sent FaZe Clan to 2-0 on Inferno with a score of 16-12.
After such an incredible performance, many predictions were shattered, and rumors began to circulate that anyone who bet on a 0-3 outcome for this team would hear the cries of "Into the Breach" throughout the entire major after their victory over FaZe Clan!
Their next match will be tomorrow in a bo3 format against ENCE.
GamerLegion
GamerLegion is the second team that many players chose to predict a 0-3 outcome for. But unfortunately for them, the team finished the day with a score of 1-1.
In their first match, they were defeated by NAVI on Mirage with a score of 10-16.
Then they managed to defeat 9INE in an intensely close match on Mirage with a score of 16-13.
As a result, they disrupted many predictions, and the team is happily preparing for their next game against Fnatic, which will take place tomorrow at 11:30 in a bo3 format.
Now let's talk about those who pleasantly surprised us.
Monte
Of course, it's our guys from Monte who pleasantly surprised everyone and won all their matches today!
First of all, they took down Furia on Ancient with a score of 16-7. The team won eight rounds in a row as Counter-Terrorists and finished the game with that.
Then, in a highly intense match against Fnatic, Monte emerged victorious only after the end of the first overtime. The Ukrainian organization won the battle on Vertigo with a score of 19-17.
Their next opponent, whom they have to go through to reach the playoffs, is the formidable team Vitality, who won't give up easily.
The match starts tomorrow at 18:30 in a bo3 format.
Team Liquid
And how can we forget about the team that managed to climb from a 0-2 score in the Challengers stage to the Legends stage? And in the Legends stage, they finished the first day with a score of 2-0 - we're, of course, talking about Liquid.
In their first match, the guys comfortably defeated the Polish team 9INE on Overpass with a score of 16-9.
After that, they sensationally crushed NAVI on Inferno with a score of 16-8. It's worth noting that Liquid won the first half 14-1. Also, YEKINDAR played one of his best maps ever, as his rating reached an impressive 9.4.

We were lucky against NAVI. We knew what they were doing. NAVI started losing a lot and got into a moment where it all accumulates. And they couldn't get out of there.

There were so many talks about G2 being the future champions of the last CS:GO major, and their young sniper being the tournament's MVP.
At the moment, the team stands at 0-2 and is on the verge of elimination from the tournament.
In their first match, they lost to Vitality. They fought hard but conceded Nuke with a score of 13-16.
After that, they suffered another defeat to BAD NEWS EAGLES on Ancient with a score of 13-16.
The team will play their survival match tomorrow at 14:30 against the Brazilians from Furia.

FaZe is the team that disappointed us the most with their performance today. They started by losing to Heroic on Inferno with a score of 7-16.
Then, they suffered another defeat against ITB on the same map, Inferno, with a score of 12-16.

Sorry, everyone. A very poor game. Something went wrong in both matches today, both games felt half-asleep, and playing Inferno twice recently with a swap in defensive positions ended up being all messed up (although I don't think the position swap had such a significant impact). Okay, the game against Heroic was well played by them, but we made too many mistakes against Into The Breach.
The team will also play their survival match tomorrow against the Polish team 9INE.

FaZe played very well - they had good stacks, they prepared well against us, they felt confident, but everything could have been completely different. Rounds were won with a small margin. We didn't play well in the first half, but we stepped up in the second half and started playing our own CS.
They had a lot of changes in their roster - from shox to kyxsan, but in the end, they made a difficult decision, saying to themselves, 'We want to play in big tournaments, we'll rebuild the roster,' and now they're in the legends stage. I think they can be proud of themselves.
The BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023 takes place from May 8th to May 21st. Teams are competing for a prize pool of $1.25 million.
