Only RED Canids and Vivo Keyd Stars Will Retain Academic Rosters in LTA South

Due to the changes in the LTA South format set to take place in 2025, CBLOL Academy will undergo significant changes, allowing teams to use the Tier 2 division to secure a spot among the elite in Brazilian League of Legends. However, as reported by Sheep Esports, only two of the six Brazilian teams will retain their academy rosters for the next year. These are RED Canids and Vivo Keyd Stars, who are already actively working in the market to find players for their secondary teams.

The decision by RED Canids and Vivo Keyd Stars to retain their academy rosters is a significant step amid format changes. In contrast, LOUD, Fluxo, FURIA, and paiN Gaming have opted out of Tier 2 participation, focusing all efforts on their main rosters for LTA South. Sources reveal that changes in rules and formats, which Riot Games will announce in the coming days, are the main reasons behind most teams' withdrawal from the academy scene.

Reactions from Other Teams

Among the teams that did not secure a spot in LTAS, LOS stated their intention to remain in Tier 2 and continue investing in sports development. In an official comment, LOS representatives noted:

"LOS is currently on a path to stable growth. Despite not making it to the top league, we adhere to an investment plan to offer our fans a competitive team with a unique style. Next year, we will be focused on Tier 2, aiming to secure a place among the elites through access leagues."

LOS also emphasized their intention to nurture young talent, including players and coaches such as BrTT, Ranger, Lava, Hirit, Stardust, Kabbie, and Seize.

Liberty, in turn, announced a complete exit from esports, ceasing their activities in the industry. As for INTZ, their future remains uncertain: they have faced financial difficulties in recent months and did not qualify for LTA South, necessitating time for recovery and restructuring.
