Dev Update: Riot Discusses Gameplay Changes

Feats of Strength 

In general, the developers talked about how the changes in January have affected the game now. The main point was the change in the conditions for obtaining Feats of Strength. That is, gaining an advantage in the initial stage of the game is no longer as random as before, when the main condition was to get the first kill on the map, but now you need three kills for this task. They also changed the characteristics of most of the upgraded boots. Now they like the balance in this regard.

           
           

Atakhan and Blood Roses

Atakhan was added to provide an objective in the mid-game with great rewards for players, progresses the game, but doesn't completely blow everything open like a 20 mins Baron would. Also, Atakhan gives opportunities for safety farm gameplay and for smashing fight comps. It's a pity, but Voracious Atakhan gives really OP reward, so next patch they are increasing the withdrawal time to 15 seconds to give defending players a bit more time to recover after forcing enemies to withdraw. And what about Blood Roses? They got nerfed in some last patches and now it's great that teams are contesting space to take them to have a bit more lead. Noxian Map Theme 

Developers want to add other map themes to the Rift in next seasons. They got some feedback around the map feeling too dark and gloomy, so they have fixes that will come with act 2 of the season. Maybe we’ll see Ionia or Demacia themes soon.
