On January 25, another game day of the LPL Split 1 2025 took place. This time, two matches were played — Bilibili Gaming versus LNG Esports and Royal Never Give Up versus Invictus Gaming. In this article, we've summarized these matches.
Bilibili Gaming vs. LNG Esports
BLG were the undisputed favorites in this battle, and they started proving it right from the beginning. There's little to say about the first map other than it was a total rout by Bilibili. The map ended with a score of 26-6. Notably, the BLG trio delivered an incredible map on an individual level: knight, Wei, and Elk.
The second map also went under BLG's control, albeit not as filled with kills. LNG managed to calm the game down somewhat, but it wasn't enough to win. From Bilibili, we saw Corki mid, even though he is usually chosen in ADC now. knight excellently performed the task and, together with the team, brought victory in the second map.
The third map was similar to the second. Not very fight-heavy gameplay and full map control by BLG. The game ended with a score of 3:0 in favor of Bilibili Gaming, earning them their second victory without losing a single map.
Royal Never Give Up vs. Invictus Gaming
In this game, it wasn't entirely clear who the favorite was. On paper, of course, IG, thanks to the almost complete return of the star roster. However, the loss against NiP brought everyone back to reality, showing that the updated team needs time to adapt. RNG nearly crushed the first map. A good idea with the Karthus jungle pick paid off, and RNG started to lead the series.
The second map was completely the reverse of the first. A good pick by IG and excellent team interaction, along with strong individual play, help them even the score.
The final map of the confrontation, which brought victory to IG, was the closest of the entire series. An interesting choice by IG, placing Zeri mid helped counter Smolder from Tangyuan. The game was quite even to the end, and if the last fights were won by RNG, they could have easily translated this series to a fifth map.
