Despite falling at the 2024 League of Legends World Championship in the grand finals to T1, BLG is ranked the number one team in League of Legends on the Riot Games esports power rankings. The BLG roster of Bin, Xun, Knight, Elk, and ON put up a monstrous 41-8 record across the 2024 season, making their team one of the more impressive rosters in all of esports.
BLG dominated the League of Legends competition this year, finishing second at the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational with their only best-of-five defeats coming to Gen.G across the entire tournament. The stats speak for themselves, those two defeats to Gen.G were part of eight defeats they suffered the entire season, which includes the LPL regular seasons, playoffs, MSI, and more. You’ll be pressed to find many matches in which Bilibili Gaming’s LoL side struggled. They may not have ended up with the main prizes, but they were in the conversation at every turn this season.
If you’re one of the best teams in the world, the schedule will not be kind to you. Especially considering the LPL plays more games than any League of Legends domestic league in the world. BLG were the standard for much of the year but were sadly unable to win either MSI or Worlds when it mattered most. Two back-to-back second-place finishes will sting a lot for their players, and it’ll be interesting to see how they bounce back next year.
