YouTuber Plainrock124 Allegedly Banned After Smashing Nintendo Switch 2 Outside Store

YouTuber PlainRock124 became the first person banned from visiting the Nintendo store in San Francisco after buying a new Nintendo Switch 2 and smashing it right in front of the entrance.

In his video, PlainRock124 showed the unboxing of the console and then hitting the device with a hammer on the sidewalk near the store. After that, he posted a photo of the broken console on his X account with the caption: “No joke, they told me I’m the first person banned from this store.”

Although there was no official statement from Nintendo, several sources confirmed that the YouTuber was not only kicked out of the store but also banned from making further payments. According to eyewitnesses, his name was added to the security system, which indicates the seriousness of the incident.

The internet community’s reaction was mixed: some condemned PlainRock124 for disrespecting the product and consumers, especially considering the limited availability of the Switch 2, while others believe this is just a typical move in his attention-grabbing strategy, which has already earned him millions of views.

PlainRock124 is known for his “Bored Smashing” video series, where he destroys various gadgets — from smartphones to gaming consoles. His content often sparks controversy due to wastefulness and lack of respect for technology that many people dream of owning.

This case with the Nintendo Switch 2 once again demonstrates how content made for popularity can lead to unpredictable consequences for both the creator and the brand.
