A large leak has potentially revealed the full set of abilities and character model for Wuyang, the upcoming support hero in Overwatch 2, set to debut in Season 18. While Blizzard has not officially confirmed any details, the Overwatch community is actively discussing the hero's abilities, role, and place in the game's meta.
What We Know About Wuyang
Initially introduced under the codename "Aqua" during the Overwatch 2 Spotlight event and later confirmed as a water-themed support hero set to arrive on August 26, Wuyang is already generating buzz thanks to a leak on Reddit, allegedly linked to an official Blizzard survey. Fans now have an idea of the playstyle this 44th hero will bring.
Additionally, numerous images of the hero's model have surfaced online, allowing fans to see Wuyang's appearance.

All Abilities of Wuyang in Overwatch 2
According to posts, Wuyang's primary weapon is the Xuanwu Staff, which fires guided water spheres that can be charged for explosive AoE damage. His alternate attack, Restorative Stream, provides passive healing to allies and can be manually enhanced, reminiscent of classic support heroes like Zenyatta and Mercy.

His two main abilities, Guardian Wave and Rushing Torrent, add utility and mobility elements. Guardian Wave boosts ally healing and repels enemies, while Rushing Torrent allows Wuyang to ride waves for increased speed and maneuverability. His ultimate, Tidal Blast, shields an ally or Wuyang himself with a water barrier that explodes, providing healing and knocking enemies down—a hybrid of Ana's healing mechanics and Reinhardt's crowd control.

When Wuyang Will Be Released in Overwatch 2
Despite the lack of official confirmation, many fans believe the leak to be true due to the level of detail and consistency with Blizzard's interface style. The company has yet to comment on the situation, and it's worth noting that Wuyang's abilities may still change before his official release.
However, with a hero trial weekend scheduled for August 14–18, players will soon be able to assess whether these abilities are genuine. Wuyang is expected to be available in all standard game modes upon release (except Stadium) and will be the twelfth support hero in Overwatch 2's roster.
