Epic Games has announced another collaboration with Marvel: Black Widow and Winter Soldier skins will appear in Fortnite, coinciding with the upcoming MCU film 'Thunderbolts'. The new cosmetic items will be available in the Fortnite Item Shop on April 30 at 8:00 PM Eastern Time, with early access available through a limited-time tournament.

As part of the collaboration, the characters will receive a stylized look in the 'Pen & Ink' style—featuring a comic book, cel-shaded design similar to previous Deadpool and Wolverine skins. Players will be able to unlock the Black Widow and Winter Soldier outfits, as well as themed pickaxes, backpacks, wraps, and emotes when the set becomes available.

Thunderbolts Cup: How to Get the New Skins Early

Before the official store release, players will have the chance to earn exclusive rewards early—through the Thunderbolts Cup, taking place on April 25. This is a duo competition in the Battle Royale mode with building, open to accounts level 50+ with two-factor authentication enabled. Players under 13 years old will not be able to participate in the tournament.

The top duos in each region will receive the Black Widow skin for free. The number of winners is limited—from 100 to 1000 duos, depending on the region. However, even players who don't make the top can earn valuable prizes:

• 8 points — Winter Soldier Wrap
• 40 points — White Widow Wrap

Points are awarded for match wins, eliminating opponents, and overall placement on the leaderboard based on the results of up to 10 matches within three hours. The tournament schedule for each region can be viewed in the Compete tab in the game.

The arrival of Bucky Barnes, known as the Winter Soldier, becomes the 98th Marvel character in the Fortnite universe—finally filling a gap that fans have noticed for years. His set includes the Armament Axe pickaxe (with the built-in Arm-Up emote), a themed wrap, and the Spare Back Bling backpack.

Black Widow (Yelena Belova) brings her own charm to the game with the Widow’s Mac emote—a playful nod to her love for mac and cheese, along with the White Widow’s Fangs pickaxe and the Pack Back Bling backpack.

When Winter Soldier and Black Widow Skins Will Appear in Fortnite

For those who miss the cup or don't secure a win, the entire Thunderbolts set will be available in the Fortnite Item Shop starting April 30. Prices for these sets are currently unknown, as is whether the items will be sold as a bundle—a question that has become relevant following criticism of the Adventure Time collaboration, where the absence of bundles led to higher costs for skin collectors.
