Pokémon TCG Pocket Pawmot drop event guide

Pokémon TCG Pocket’s latest solo event is live, and this time it’s all about the Electric-type brawler Pawmot. The Pawmot Drop Event runs from April 7 to April 17, 2025 (until 2 a.m. ET), giving players 10 full days to battle, earn rewards, and farm for that sweet full-art promo.

Like past Drop Events, this one features four solo CPU battles: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert, with increasing difficulty and a chance to unlock exclusive cards from Promo Pack A Series Vol. 6. You’ll need Event Hourglasses to take part, but thankfully, they aren’t consumed if you lose. Completing battles for the first time will also net you more Hourglasses, so progress comes steadily even if you struggle early on.

All Promo Cards in the Pawmot Drop Event

Promo Packs earned from this event can be opened from the Gifts menu and contain one of five special cards. Each has a set drop rate, and while all are useful, only one is a full art:

  • Pawmot (Full Art) – 12.66%
  • Machamp – 15.82%
  • Floatzel – 23.84%
  • Ekans – 23.84%
  • Bidoof – 23.84%

Pawmot is the clear highlight here thanks to its Counterattack ability, which deals 20 damage back to any Pokémon that hits it while it’s in the active slot. Paired with 140 HP, it can tank longer than most Electric-types. Ekans is also worth mentioning for its guaranteed Poison move, while Floatzel brings bonus damage against already-hurt opponents. The rest feature alternate art versions from Shining Revelry.

Best Deck to Use for the Event

Since the event decks are stacked with Electric-types, you’ll want to bring a Fighting-type deck to capitalize on their weakness. One of the top-performing builds right now is the Rampardos/Lucario combo deck. Here’s a breakdown of key cards in this setup:

  • Riolu, Lucario, Cranidos, Rampardos – from Space-Time Smackdown
  • Sudowoodo – from Triumphant Light
  • Marshadow – from Mythical Island
  • Trainer Cards: Skull Fossil, Professor’s Research, X Speed, Poke Ball, Sabrina, Cyrus

This deck is fast, hard-hitting, and perfectly tailored for cutting through the electric-heavy enemies of the event. With it, even the Expert tier battles become manageable.

Final Tips

  • Always spend your Event Hourglasses before reset.
  • Focus on Expert battles once unlocked—they offer the best pack drop rate and higher-tier rewards.
  • Complete as many Battle Tasks as you can for bonus Hourglasses and Shop Tickets.
  • If you’re farming for the Pawmot card, expect a grind—but the guaranteed Expert drops help a lot.

Whether you’re chasing that full-art Pawmot or just padding your collection with powerful promos, this event is one of the most efficient ways to level up your solo game.
