On May 1, 2025, Kinetic Games released a hotfix for Phasmophobia aimed at improving the player experience during the seasonal Cursed Hollow event. The patch, version 0.12.1.1, addresses several bugs and tweaks related to new content introduced with the event, which began on April 17 and runs through May 7.

What’s New in the Update

The patch focuses on technical fixes and small changes to ghost behavior and item interaction.

Changes:

• Players can no longer place equipment on Jackalope nest eggs — this change ensures consistent interaction behavior.
• The Obake ghost model now properly shapeshifts during seasonal events when replaced with event-specific visuals.

Fixes:

• Fixed missing audio when opening the Cursed Hollow leaflet in the warehouse.
• Resolved an issue where the player’s vote tape didn’t return to its position after deselecting a map.
• The lobby volume slider in Audio settings now correctly adjusts the sound.
• Fixed inconsistencies where daily/weekly tasks and map rotations appeared differently for some players.
• Corrected DOTS T2 behavior when ghosts or Forest Minions were too close to the player.
• Restored missing terrain textures on the Point Hope map.
• Fixed unintended sensitivity changes caused by adjusting gamepad dead zones.
• Fixed a bug that prevented ghosts from killing players in VR mode.
• Corrected the Cursed Hollow event badge’s incorrect name.

Known Issues:

• Lighting issues may occur on some maps during the event period.

What’s Next?

Cursed Hollow is the first of several seasonal events planned for Phasmophobia in 2025. Kinetic Games has also confirmed upcoming Halloween and Winter holiday events. Players can also look forward to a new small map, overhauls to Bleasdale and Grafton Farmhouses, and a full player character rework to improve customization options.
