Monster Hunter Wilds Second Open Beta Announced

Capcom's executive director Ryuuzo Tsujimoto officially announced the dates for the second open beta test of Monster Hunter: Wilds, which will take place over two weekends in February 2025. This beta test will give players another opportunity to try the long-awaited RPG before its full release on February 28, 2025.

Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Test Release Date

Capcom has announced the official dates and starting times for the second beta test of Monster Hunter Wilds.

  • The first phase will run from February 6 at 7:00 PM Pacific Time (PT) to February 9 at 6:59 PM PT.
  • The second phase will last from February 13 to February 16 at the same time.

Platforms Available for Monster Hunter Wilds

The second beta test will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam with support for cross-platform play between all platforms. It is noted that no PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass subscription is required to participate in the beta test. You will need at least 29 GB of free disk space for the Monster Hunter Wilds beta test version.

Content of the Second Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Test

The second beta test will include all the content from the first test, including character creation, the game's story portion, and the "Slay Doshaguma" quest. However, this time players will face a new challenge — hunting the Gypceros, one of the beloved monsters returning to the series.

Additionally, the developers have kept some type of content currently hidden, and information about it will be revealed later. Players who participated in the first test can transfer their custom characters to the second test and use them in the full version of the game after release.

Capcom will also offer players participating in the second beta test a reward — a decorative Palico amulet for a weapon or a Seikret mount. Testers will also receive a set of items that can be used in the final version of the game. The publisher emphasized that progress made during the beta test will not be transferred to the main game.

The first beta test, which took place at the end of 2024, received both positive reviews and criticism. While players enjoyed the luxurious open world and character creation options, some expressed concerns about the game's visual effects and weapon mechanics. Capcom has taken this feedback into account and assured fans that they are working on improving the game's performance and refinement before its launch.

With just a few weeks left until the release of Monster Hunter: Wilds, the second beta test offers players a last chance to get a glimpse of what could be one of the most ambitious entries in the Monster Hunter franchise. Players eagerly awaiting the hunt will be able to dive into the game starting February 6, making February an exciting month for monster hunters around the world.
