Build a Rocket Boy, the studio founded by former Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies, has officially announced the release date for the futuristic action game MindsEye — one of the most high-profile alternatives to GTA 6. The biggest surprise? A crossover with Agent 47 from the Hitman series.

Release Date and Platforms

MindsEye launches on June 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The game will be priced at $60, making it more affordable compared to the expected high price of GTA 6.

Gameplay and Story

The protagonist is Jacob Diaz, an ex-soldier equipped with a MindsEye neuro implant that allows him to control drones, hack systems, and use high-tech tools in combat.

Story is set in the futuristic megalopolis of Redrock City, combining open-world gameplay with linear story missions. Built on the Unreal Engine 5, the game promises a high level of detail and realism.

Agent 47

In a trailer shown at Summer Game Fest, fans spotted a familiar silhouette — Agent 47 from Hitman. This was later officially confirmed: the character will have a fully playable mission in MindsEye. According to IO Interactive, Agent 47 will appear in a post-launch update coming in July 2025. This marks the first major crossover for the game — and likely not the last. Despite obvious parallels with Grand Theft Auto — a former GTA developer, an open world, a crime-driven atmosphere — MindsEye aims for a distinct identity. The developers promise a more focused narrative, deep characters, and modern themes of AI, control, and conspiracy.

The campaign will offer around 15 hours of main story content, which is average for a narrative-driven action game. Build a Rocket Boy has also confirmed monthly updates that will introduce new missions, side quests, and potentially more guest characters. The beginning has been made — Agent 47 will be the first in a series of crossovers.
