On December 12, 2024, during The Game Awards ceremony, the publisher Chucklefish and developer Pugstorm unveiled their new project — Kyora, a 2D sandbox adventure game designed for 1–8 players. The game is scheduled for release on PC via early access on Steam in 2025.
In Kyora, players find themselves in a procedurally generated open world where every pixel can be altered. The game focuses on exploration, resource gathering, and crafting. Players can mine materials, create magical wands with unique abilities that alter the world's physics, and face formidable bosses known as Heralds. Additionally, players can terraform the environment by building structures or altering the landscape to aid in their adventures.
The game will support online cooperative mode for up to eight players, encouraging collaborative exploration and creativity. Although a specific release date has not been announced, the developers have confirmed plans for early access in 2025. Interested players can add Kyora to their wishlist on Steam to receive updates on its development and release.
