PlayStation has officially announced the release date for the highly anticipated exclusive — Ghost of Yōtei will launch on October 2, 2025, exclusively for PlayStation 5.

The game transports players to a mystical feudal Japan, where reality intertwines with legends. Set in the year 1603 in the Ezo region (modern-day Hokkaido), the story follows Atsu — a young ronin on a journey of vengeance for the death of her family. Players are given the freedom to choose the order in which they eliminate six key targets known as the “Yōtei Six,” adding a non-linear approach to the narrative.

Gameplay Features

Ghost of Yōtei features an open world that spans snowy tundras, dense forests, and mountainous terrain around Mount Yōtei. Players can freely choose the order of quests and objectives, offering varied gameplay experiences. The combat system emphasizes stealth and technical duels, giving players greater control over tactical decisions. Character development is also a key element — players can build camps, take on contracts, and upgrade Atsu’s skills.

The official trailer is already available and showcases cinematic visuals, dynamic combat, and the immersive atmosphere of feudal Japan. Ghost of Yōtei is poised to become one of the major PS5 exclusives of 2025, continuing the legacy of Ghost of Tsushima with a new protagonist and a deeper, more personal story.
