Pokémon GO will reintroduce Gigantamax Lapras in the game during the Water Festival, leading a special Max Battle Day event on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in your local time. Trainers will be able to battle Gigantamax Lapras in Max Battles during this limited-time event, and they will also have the opportunity to catch its Shiny version.

Free Event Bonuses

All Trainers can enjoy the following bonuses during the event:

• Remote Raid Pass limit increased to 20 (Active from Friday, July 18, at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday, July 19, at 8:00 p.m. PDT)
• Two additional Special Trades
• Power Spots will refresh more frequently
• Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
• 1/4 adventuring distance to collect Max Particles*
• 2x Max Particles from exploring*
• 8x Max Particles from Power Spots*

These three Max Particle-related bonuses will be active from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. To benefit, Trainers must first collect all available Max Particles from the Nearby menu by exploring.

Free Timed Research

Beginning Monday, July 14, 2025, at 6:00 a.m. local time, all Trainers will have access to free Timed Research for the event. Completing this research grants an encounter with Dynamax Passimian and some Passimian Candy, Max Particles, and other items for team strengthening. Remember to claim all rewards before the research expires on Saturday, July 19 at 5:00 p.m. local time.

Paid Event Ticket 

For players seeking additional rewards, a premium ticket will be available for US$4.99 (or local equivalent). This includes exclusive Timed Research and the following rewards:

• 1 Max Mushroom
• 25,000 XP
• 2x XP from Max Battles
• Increased Max Particle collection limit to 5,600

This ticket will be available in the in-game shop until the end of the event (5:00 p.m. local time on July 19). Tickets can be gifted to friends at Great Friends level or higher but cannot be purchased with PokéCoins. All ticket sales are final.

Special Shop Offers

In addition to the in-game ticket, two limited-time bundles will be available in the Pokémon GO Web Store to support your battle efforts. The Gigantamax Lapras Max Battle Day Ultra Ticket Box will cost $4.99 and includes both the premium event ticket and a bonus Max Particle Pack at no extra charge. For Trainers looking for more supplies, the Max Battle Boost Box will be available for $7.99 and includes one Max Mushroom and seven Max Particle Packs, ideal for preparing your team for Gigantamax encounters.
