FromSoftware announces The Duskbloods, a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive with a new approach to gameplay

FromSoftware, the developer of Dark Souls and Elden Ring, has unveiled a new game titled The Duskbloods that will exclusively be on the Nintendo Switch 2 and comes out in 2026.

Dynamic Movement Abilities

Players in The Duskbloods will be playing as characters called Bloodsworn, which come equipped with new skills like dashes, double jumps, and distant attacks. These features bring in greater dynamism and acrobatics to the game, presenting a clear break in style compared to the close combat previous games in the studio focused on.

Multiplayer Focus

The Duskbloods provides a PvPvE format of eight players, where the victory conditions are a "last man standing" mode or team boss fights. Such a strategy blends competition and cooperation in that it presents a varied experience of gameplay to the player.

Commitment to Single-Player Games

In spite of the emphasis on multiplayers, game director Hidetaka Miyazaki reassured fans that FromSoftware will still make single-player games, including the upcoming Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition for the Switch 2, releasing in 2025.

The Duskbloods promises to bring a new dimension of dynamism and acrobatics to the table, where the player can enjoy FromSoft's innovative style of gameplay.
