CDPR held a REDstreams live broadcast, where they presented update 2.2 for Cyberpunk 2077. The new patch is available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S game owners. Previous generation consoles will not receive the update.
The recent announcement of the update was a surprise for the game's fans, as the Polish studio had previously mentioned that no new updates should be expected. However, today, on December 10, CDPR talked about a major content update for Cyberpunk 2077. The studio Virtuos helped CDPR with the development of the patch. Below you can find the list of changes revealed in the broadcast.
What's new in Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.2
Vehicle Customization
Players now have the ability to change the color of their cars thanks to the CrystalCoat system. To do this, open the special menu and select the desired color palette. The addition of the TwinTone feature allows you to scan other cars to use their unique patterns on your own vehicle. This means players don't have to steal another car to add beautiful vehicles to their collection, as customization has become simpler and more flexible.
Improved AutoFixer
Virtuos helped implement the long-held player desire to acquire cars that were previously unobtainable, including purchases. They are now available in the updated AutoFixer.
Enhanced Photo Mode
Players will be able to enjoy an improved version of the photo mode, which has become more flexible, with enhancements in certain settings, including light, poses, the number of NPCs in the frame, etc. The photo mode UI has also been changed.
Photo mode enthusiasts and photographers now have something to do in the game to capture successful shots. However, these changes apply only to the PC version of the game due to technical limitations that did not allow the implementation of this feature in full on consoles.
Expanded Character Customization Options
Developers have increased the number of various elements, details, and patterns you can add to your character, such as colors, nails, implants, eye types, makeup, hairstyles, tattoos, etc. This will allow players to create more unique designs for their characters without using third-party modifications.
Unknown Changes
One of the developers hinted that Night City might surprise players with interesting innovations and events but decided not to disclose them to keep some mystery for the upcoming update. Most likely, players can expect new missions or random events in the game to diversify the usual pace of the game and engage players.
Many players were expecting an enhanced version for the new generation of consoles, specifically for the PS5 Pro, a "New Game +" mode, and a third-person mode. However, none of this was announced, and a PS5 Pro version is definitely not provided in the current patch.
