On August 6, 2025, Call of Duty: Warzone received a major update with the launch of Season 05. Raven Software introduced new modes, weapons, updated loot, UI improvements, and a significant upgrade to the RICOCHET anti-cheat system.

Key Highlights

Anti-Cheat Improvements

RICOCHET has been upgraded to utilize TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot for deeper system checks. These changes make third-party software harder to use and enhance match transparency in Ranked Play.

Battle Pass

The new Battle Pass includes:

• Over 100 rewards
• 2 new base weapons
• New Operators, skins, and finishing move animations
• BlackCell tier with exclusive items
• Ability to earn up to 1,100 COD Points

Map & Mode Updates

Remodeled Stadium The Stadium on Verdansk has been reworked into a vertical combat zone with high-tier loot. Starting in Week 2 of the season, it becomes a permanent High-Value Loot Zone.

Satellite Hijack Contract This new contract goes live in Week 1. Completing it grants access to the Stadium breach and elite loot. It becomes open to all players from Week 2 onward.

New Mode – Stadium Resurgence

• 36 players
• 12-minute matches
• High-intensity Resurgence gameplay set inside the Stadium
• Available from Week 2

Ranked Play Changes

• SR for 1st place reduced: 150 → 125
• SR for 2nd–3rd place increased: 75 → 100
• Restricted: 9mm Daemon PM Skullsplitter Barrel
• Challenges made easier (e.g., camos: 250 → 150 eliminations)
• New exclusive Ranked rewards: Operators, charms, emblems, skins

• PML 5.56 — light machine gun (Battle Pass)
• ABR A1 — burst-fire capable assault rifle (Battle Pass)
• Boxing Gloves — melee weapon (event rewards)

New Attachments

• Skullsplitter Barrel for 9mm PM
• Helical Magazine for PPSh-41

Weapon Balancing

• Most ARs: improved range and bullet velocity
• LC-10 SMG: reduced effectiveness
• Snipers: HDR — reduced ADS and bullet speed, LR 7.62 — buffed

Other Changes

• Loot pool adjusted: increased AR and SMG spawns on Rebirth Island
• Improved starting loadouts for classes like Enforcer, Recon, Commando
• Weapon XP progress UI now displays both current and max level
• Friendly tactical equipment now has visual markers
• Numerous bug fixes including issues in Ranked Play, perks, challenges, and visuals
