The developers of Black Myth: Wukong, Game Science, have released a new patch 1.0.12.16581, which adds several interesting features, significant technical fixes, and new equipment. Here is a full overview of what this patch brings to the game.
Challenge Mode and New Items
After completing the game at least once, players will have access to the "Challenge" option at any Keeper's Shrine. Black Myth: Wukong now has two types of challenges:
- Return of Rivals: Players engage in duels with former adversaries, choosing from one of three difficulty levels. Fights with enemies that the player has not yet defeated in the main game will remain unavailable.
- Gauntlet of Legends: This is a kind of horde mode, where you have to fight several opponents in a row, using customizable curses to change the difficulty. Some enemies may surprise the player with new tricks.
By completing these modes, the player can earn new types of rewards that will enhance their equipment collection for future battles, including:
- Potions: Glimmering Scale Pellets and their recipe.
- Drinks and tinctures: Sour Wine, Frost-Enduring Chrysanth, and Robust Antler.
- Relics: Stone Tiger Tally, Ever-Burning Palace Lantern, and Fragment of the Ocean-Settling Pillar.
- Armor: Three Hill Crown.
- Weapons: Qing Mallet, Fanged Cyan Staff, and Leeching Centipede Staff.
New Feature: Journeyer's Chart
This feature creates a record of explored areas. It unlocks when visiting Black Wind Mountain and meeting the Keeper. Once new zones are unlocked, the corresponding maps can be purchased at the Keeper's Shrine.
New Equipment: Opulence Armor Set
In celebration of the approaching Chinese New Year, the developers have added 4 pieces of armor. Players can obtain this special set through the Trailblazer’s Gift at any Keeper's Shrine after installing the update.
New Features in the Music Library
The Black Myth: Wukong Soundtrack Selection app has been added. However, some tracks cannot be exported due to copyright limitations. Users who purchased the deluxe edition of Black Myth: Wukong on EPIC might face delays in receiving the soundtrack.
