Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Adding Third-Person Mode and New Game

Ubisoft is developing a huge new patch for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. First-person, third-person, as well as replays in a New Game+ mode, are scheduled for release on December 5, 2025. It coincides with a new film, titled Avatar: Fire and Ash, arriving in theaters on December 19.

What’s New

Third-Person Mode

Gameers wanted a feature where you can observe your character in the game action, and now you can. Ubisoft confirmed you can activate the third-person view on/off any time you want. For it to work, the developers had to rethink the camera, animations, control, and even the sound system so the new view feels intuitive.

New Game+

In this new mode, all abilities, gear, and inventory carry over. Enemies become stronger, and players gain access to a new skill tree and enhanced equipment. This provides a fresh gameplay experience after the first playthrough.

Update Release Date

The patch is released on December 5, 2025 — a respectable eighteen months following the initial release. Ubisoft booked the release specifically, as the new series film,Avatar, releases just fourteen days later. It could instill fresh enthusiasm for the title.

Additional Updates and Continued Support

Alongside the third-person mode, Frontiers of Pandora continues to receive active support. Ubisoft has already released several major updates and promises more to come.

The in-game Hunter’s Guide has also seen a redesign. This feature now offers better assistance in navigating through Pandora’s ecosystem, tracking prey, and efficiently foraging for resources.

A new rendering mode with 40 FPS is introduced for console users, providing a smoother experience with no visual quality loss.

Combat has also been rebalanced. Developers implemented numerous changes to enemy behavior, weapon damage, and other combat parameters to make encounters more dynamic and fair.
