Activision has just dropped a new user interface for Call of Duty, and it’s going live before Black Ops 6 drops on October 25. This fresh UI is set to replace the not-so-popular Call of Duty HQ, and finally, give players a smoother way to jump into their favorite games without jumping through endless menus.
The big deal? The new Home tab has Game Tiles, meaning each game gets its own interface. No more wading through layers of confusing menus just to launch a game. Fans have been roasting the clunky UI since Modern Warfare 2019 came out, especially with the launch of Warzone. But this time, Activision’s promising things will be way easier.
In their blog post, Activision laid it out: they’ve made the UI more user-friendly, with three main hubs — Home, All Games, and Store. Each hub packs all the content on one page, so no more endless scrolling to find what you want. Starting October 25, Black Ops 6 and Warzone will be right there on the Home tab, ready to launch.
If you want to see the whole Call of Duty library from 2019 onwards, you’ll need to jump to the All Games tab. There’s also a handy Last Played tile to quickly access whatever you were playing last.
And here’s the kicker — you can check out this new UI starting October 21, thanks to a pre-launch update. Activision plans to roll it out in phases:
Phase 1: Pre-Black Ops 6 (October 21-24)
During this period, the new UI will be live, but Black Ops 6 won’t be there yet. Modern Warfare III and Warzone will take center stage on the Home tab, with their current UIs sticking around until the big update hits.
Phase 2: Post-Black Ops 6 Launch (October 25)
Once Black Ops 6 drops, it’ll take over as the main game tile alongside Warzone. You’ll get instant access to the game and can still play Modern Warfare III by heading to the All Games tab or the Last Played tile.
Phase 3: Season 01 Update (Date TBD)
When Season 01 kicks off, the UI will be fully set. A new Battle Pass tab will also come in, making it super easy to navigate through the new content in both Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
Oh, and for those ready to dive into Black Ops 6 right away, preloading starts October 21 at 9 am PT for everyone. If you’ve preordered, the download will begin automatically, but if not, you can manually start it from your platform’s storefront.
So, get ready to jump into Black Ops 6 with way less menu grind!
