An insider from Marvel Rivals has shared information that a new PvE mode might be introduced in the game. It is currently unknown whether it is planned to be released shortly after the launch of the first season of Marvel Rivals: Eternal Night Falls, which begins on January 10, or if it is still in development.
On the social network X (also known as Twitter), user RivalsLeak shared a post claiming that his sources have already tested the PvE mode in Marvel Rivals. This information was confirmed by another insider with the nickname RivalsInfo, who found a tag in the game files indicating the possible development of this mode. However, RivalsLeak noted that this project could either have been postponed or completely canceled.
Potential PvE Mode for Marvel Rivals? ‼️🔥
— Marvel Rivals - Leaks & Info (@RivalsLeaks) January 6, 2025
Some time ago, I was informed by a source that they had experienced a PvE mode in the game. Today, @RivalsInfo found a tag suggesting PvE might still be in development.
It’s unclear if this feature has been scrapped or if it’s planned… pic.twitter.com/OfDSR4Jv22
Considering that the insider's rumors often get confirmed, this scenario sounds realistic. If the information is verified, the PvE mode will allow players to team up to fight against AI-controlled enemies instead of competing against each other. Fans are already actively discussing potential antagonists and storylines. For example, there are suggestions that Doctor Doom’s robots might appear in the game.

Besides the PvE rumors, other information leaks suggest that NetEase Games might be working on a "Capture the Flag" mode called Infinity Crisis. If true, these new game modes will significantly expand the gaming potential of Marvel Rivals, which currently features three main modes: Convergence, Convoy, and Domination.

NetEase has not yet confirmed any of these rumors. However, the inclusion of a PvE mode could make Marvel Rivals a direct competitor to Overwatch from Blizzard, with the community's positive reaction to the leak being direct confirmation of this. Many Overwatch fans were disappointed by Blizzard's scaled-back plans for PvE content, and some believe Marvel Rivals could fill this niche.

Marvel Rivals continues to gain popularity ahead of the launch of its first official season. In Season 1, characters from the Fantastic Four will appear, with Dracula as the main villain. The season trailer also showcased a new dark New York map, which is rumored to be coming to the game soon.
