Deadlock is a hybrid MOBA shooter developed by Valve, combining elements from games like Dota, Overwatch, Smite, and similar projects. Currently, the game is in the early stages of development, and there is no official information regarding Deadlock's system requirements.
However, the game is already accessible to players who have received an invitation for playtesting, either directly from Valve or from other players. This allows players to assess the game's technical state themselves, while allowing Valve developers to monitor how various systems perform within the game.
Even though the official system requirements haven't been released, we will share the specifications of the system on which we managed to play Deadlock comfortably. It's important to note that the game is still in development, so the hardware requirements might increase over time as developers add more effects, better lighting, and improved graphics.
Operating System: It is known for certain that Deadlock can be played starting from Windows 10 and above. Since the Steam platform has discontinued support for Windows 7 and earlier versions, it is unlikely that Valve will support the game on outdated systems.
Free Disk Space: The current version of Deadlock takes up nearly 23 GB of disk space.
RAM: The system used has 16 GB of RAM, which is sufficient to run the game, with enough resources left over.
Processor: The game runs on an Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 processor without any issues or load problems. Therefore, if you have a similar or more powerful processor, you should not encounter any difficulties.
Graphics Card: The computer used has a GTX 1070 graphics card with 8 GB of VRAM. While this might not be the best combination of processor and graphics card, it performs well in many games, including Deadlock. On high graphics settings, the game can achieve 60 FPS. However, there might be occasional frame drops during intense action. It's difficult to determine whether this is due to optimization issues or the build itself.
Feedback from Other Players:
- Systems with Nvidia 700 series graphics cards or older experience significant optimization and graphical issues.
- On low graphics settings at 720p resolution, a GT1030 graphics card paired with an i5-7500 processor averages 40 FPS in the lobby. The frame rate may drop further during the main gameplay sessions.
- The processor must support SSE 4.2.
Considering that the game is built on the Source 2 engine, it's expected that the final version may be more demanding. The system requirements could be similar to or higher than those of CS2, given the potential for more visual effects and action.
