Steal an Egg may look simple at first, but building the best pen fast comes down to knowing which pets are actually worth keeping. Every pet has its own rarity and base income, while size rolls and mutations can boost certain hatches far beyond their standard value.
Below, you'll find all current Steal an Egg pets sorted by biome, rarity, and income per second, plus the highest-earning pets, how size and mutations affect profits, and which pets are worth prioritizing once your pen starts running out of space.
How Pets and Income Work in Steal an Egg
Steal an Egg follows a simple progression loop: steal an egg, bring it back to your base, hatch it, then place the pet in a pen to earn money every second. That cash goes toward upgrades and Speed, helping you reach later biomes and steal better eggs.
A pet's listed rarity is only the starting point, though. Steal an Egg currently has ten standard rarity tiers:
- Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary → Mythic → Cosmic → Secret → Eternal → Divine
Higher-rarity pets usually have much better base income, but their actual earnings can also change depending on size and mutations. So, two pets of the same species won't always make the same amount of money.
Once placed in a pen, pets generate cash continuously. Since pen space is limited, you'll eventually want to stop keeping every decent-looking hatch and focus on the pets that earn the most money per slot. The Steal an Egg all pets overview below makes it easier to compare those options across every main biome.

All Steal an Egg Pets List by Biome, Rarity, and Income
The current Steal an Egg Index contains 106 pets across 11 biomes, ranging from Forest to Titan Temple, along with several Robux-exclusive Eggs. The list below shows each pet's reported base income before size and mutation bonuses are applied.
Keep in mind that income can vary even between pets of the same species and rarity because weight also affects earnings. For that reason, the table below lists the minimum income each pet can generate.

This table covers pets from the main biomes. Steal an Egg also has premium and limited pools, including Brainrot Eggs and Monster Eggs, but several of those pets still don't have reliable base-income figures. Because of that, they're not included in the biome income table. For a quick Steal an Egg pet tier list, the ranking below focuses on the strongest pets with documented base-income values.

Best Steal an Egg Pets by Income
Based on current base income before size and mutation modifiers, these are the highest-earning biome pets:
- Nightflame — Divine, Titan Temple — $3B/s
- Kitsune — Divine, Cherry Blossom — $1.8B/s
- Unicorn — Divine, Cosmic — $1B/s
- Gorilla King — Eternal, Titan Temple — $880M/s
- Oni Tiger — Eternal, Cherry Blossom — $600M/s
- Eternal Lunar Dragon — Eternal, Cosmic — $250M/s
- Mutant Shark — Secret, Titan Temple — $215M/s
- Mosasaurus — Eternal, Prehistoric — $180M/s
- Stag — Secret, Cherry Blossom — $145M/s
- El Maja — Eternal, Abyss Ocean — $130M/s
This ranking also shows why rarity isn't a strict income ladder. A strong Secret pet can out-earn some Eternals, and size or mutation bonuses can shake up the ranking even more.

How Size and Mutations Affect Pet Income
The income shown in a pet list is best treated as a base value, not a guarantee that every copy of the same species will earn exactly the same amount. This is especially important when comparing Steal an Egg income per second, because size and mutation bonuses can change the final number significantly.
A pet's size roll can change its final income, which is why two otherwise identical pets may have different $/s values. Size is separate from rarity, so getting a Huge pet doesn't turn a lower-rarity hatch into a Secret or Divine. It simply improves that individual pet's stats.
Mutations add another multiplier on top of the pet's base income and size roll. Current documented income multipliers include:
Mutation | Income Multiplier |
Silver | 1.25× |
Bloom | 1.5× |
Golden | 2× |
Rainbow | 2.5× |
Spirit Bloom | 3× |
Silver, Golden, and Rainbow can appear through regular map hatches and other in-game systems, while Bloom and Spirit Bloom are tied to the Sakura Incubator in Cherry Blossom. Spirit Bloom is the stronger Sakura mutation, boosting income by 3×.
For example, a pet with a base income of $100M/s would reach $200M/s with a 2× Golden mutation before any additional size bonuses are factored in. Because of this, a well-mutated lower-base pet can easily outperform a plain higher-rarity hatch.
Monster-related systems add even more variation. Monstrous can appear on Titan Temple pets obtained from Hungry Frog Monster Chests, while Mecha can roll on pets from Monster Eggs.

Best Pets to Keep When Your Pen Is Full
Once pen space gets tight, income per second per slot matters more than rarity. Don't keep a pet just because its rarity label looks impressive.
Compare the actual income shown on each pet instead. If a mutated Cosmic earns more than a plain Secret, the Cosmic is the better use of that slot. The same applies to size rolls: one duplicate may be worth keeping while another copy of the exact same species is ready to replace.
The simplest strategy is to keep your highest-income pets equipped and work downward until every slot is filled. If you're only chasing maximum passive income, the game's Equip Best option can sort this automatically. In practice, that makes the Steal an Egg best pets choices the ones that deliver the highest real income in your current pen.
Low-income duplicates are usually the first pets worth clearing out. Three pets of the same type can be placed into the Fuse machine for a chance at a stronger result, freeing pen space at the same time. In most cases, weak duplicates are more useful as fuse material than permanent earners.
