In the world of Date Everything, money talks- and lectures you about handling your finances better. Monique, the 90th Dateable in the game, is the physical manifestation of Money. Interacting with these objects were made possible when a mysterious donor gifted you the Dateviator- the device that allows you to interact and date household objects.

To befriend or romance Monique, you need to be financially smart. She will need to know whether she can trust you with the choices you make in handling your money. Your dates will consist of her giving you tips on how to save money- from saving on utilities to cutting down on groceries.

How To Unlock Monique

To meet Monique, you need to unlock and reach any Ending with Sophia the Safe- which requires access to the attic. Right after your conversation with Sophia, you can interact with the safe to open it. Put on the Dateviator and interact with the money inside to unlock Monique.

Monique wears a top made out of dollar bills and a wallet-resembling jacket, with three cards slotted in its sleeve. She carries around a gold tablet that resembles a card’s microchip. While she may seem too stoic and a bit of a Scrooge, Monique has a fear of being unprepared for emergencies- which always takes out a huge chunk out of your savings. 

Getting an Ending with Monique gives you +5 Smarts SPECS points.

How To Change Relationship Status

The direction of your conversations with Monique will not affect your relationship. Instead, to progress your relationship with Monique, you will need to pass her interview. The questions are pretty easy to nail, some having a few correct answers instead of a single one. However, getting a Love Ending instead of a Friend Ending is the tricky part for Monique. Most players were locked out of the Love Ending with her due to one specific dialogue choice.

How To Get ‘Friends’ Status

To befriend Monique, you would have to keep asking for financial tips. After a few conversations, she will share that she is not used to having company- being mostly safeguarded inside by Sophia the Safe. Respond with ‘Monique, are you scared?’. This unsettles her and she then ends the conversation abruptly.

In the next conversation, she admits that she is scared of taking risks and being unprepared. This prompts her to interview you, to evaluate whether she can trust your decisions in the future. Most of these questions are fairly easy to get it right but we’ve listed down the responses for you:

1. ‘Wait until next month’s budget.’
2. ‘Put up a listing for it online.'
3. ‘Pay off my debts and keep it in my savings.’ / ‘Pay off my debts and invest the rest.’
4. ‘Adjust my budget.’ / ‘Allocate savings until the next job.’ / ‘Date Everything.’
5. 15% / 20%
6. ‘All the time.’

For her final question, you would have to respond with ‘Because I love you.’ to get the Friend Ending. Yes, this is why a lot of players were tricked in this interaction. Telling her you love her will only lead to being Friends. 

How To Get ‘Love’ Status

To achieve the Love Ending, follow the Friend route up until the 7th question of the interview. There, you can respond with either ‘Because I care about you,’ or ‘Because I like you.’

In your next interaction, Monique will confess that she likes you. Here, you will still have the option to get a Friend Ending by telling her that you like her as a friend. Instead, respond with ’I like you too’. She will then ask you to take her on a date around the house, helping her to explore outside of the safe.

How To Get ‘Hate’ Status

To make Monique hate you, you can dismiss all of her financial advice and choose the financially illiterate options during the interview. This will make her think that you are untrustworthy to make any monetary decisions and Hate you for it.

Monique's Realization Recipe

At the end of each Dateables storyline, you can Realize them- bringing them to life. This will unlock their true Ending, where the narrator narrates what they ended up doing as human beings. Realizing Dateables requires a Realization Recipe- which differs with every Dateable.

Here is the recipe to Realize Monique:

If you find yourself unable to Realize a Dateable, it is probably because they still have Unfurnished Business. This refers to a situation where that specific Dateable is needed to complete other Dateables’ storylines. After Realizing a Dateable, you will not be able to interact with them anymore in that playthrough.
