Where to Find the Fire Door in Hebeth DOOM: The Dark Ages

You will encounter the fiery doors near the end of the second chapter, shortly after exiting the armed complex. This section is tied to the task "Find the source of demonic infection." The doors themselves are engulfed in flames, making them seem unreachable at first glance. It's easy to walk past and think they're just part of the scenery, but behind them lies the secret of this level.

How to solve DOOM The Dark Ages Fire Door Puzzle

Step 1: Reach the Room with the Valve

Instead of trying to force your way through or looking for a path over the doors, go around the central platform near the fiery doors.

Nearby, there's a small wall you can climb; it leads to an elevated platform.

At the top, you'll see a closed gate right in front of you. On them is an overheated metal cross blocking the entrance to a small room. Throw your shield-saw at the cross to destroy the lock. After that, jump through the opening and enter inside.

Step 2: DOOM The Dark Ages Hebeth fire valve —Turn Off the Fire Jets

Inside the room, look to the right of the doors — there will be a valve. Activate it to stop the fire jets blocking the entrance to the doors you want to access. You'll hear the pressure drop, and the flames will immediately disappear. This opens the way to the previously blocked secret area.

To exit the room, break through the weakened doors with a green symbol using a shield bash. They will lead you directly opposite the unlocked fiery doors.

What's Behind the Fiery Doors in DOOM: The Dark Ages

When you pass through the doors, be on guard — you'll be immediately attacked by a Hell Knight. The attack will be unexpected, so don't relax too soon.

After you deal with the enemy, move forward — there you'll find nine gold coins and one Life Sigil. There will also be some ammunition and medkits.

Before leaving the chamber, use your shield to destroy one final overheated metal lock. This action opens the final gates, returning you to the main path and officially completing the secret involving the fiery doors.

As you can see, unlocking the fire door in DOOM: The Dark Ages is a straightforward puzzle—as long as you carefully observe your surroundings and explore thoroughly. Small environmental cues, like valve wheels and overheating locks, often lead to big rewards.
