Building and placing a castle in V Rising plays a crucial role in the gameplay for various reasons: access to resources, ease of defense, aesthetic appeal, and more. However, sometimes there's a need to change your usual base location to a new one. If you're interested in how to relocate your castle in V Rising, you've found the right article.
As you explore Vardoran, your needs gradually evolve. You might require closer access to rare resources, a more convenient location near V Blood targets, or simply better terrain for building.
What is Castle Relocation Heart
In early versions of the game, relocating a castle meant dismantling it to the foundation, manually moving all materials, and rebuilding from scratch. This was time-consuming and exhausting. For many players, this was enough reason to leave everything as is. But everything changed with the introduction of the Castle Relocation Heart — a feature that appeared in the full version of the game.
To use the Castle Relocation Heart, you first need to complete the quest The First Book in the Library. This quest appears early in the Journal Progression, where you'll need to create and use a Research Desk.
Upon completion, the Castle Relocation Heart becomes available in the build menu. Creating it will cost you 100 units of Blood Essence — a small price for the convenience of relocating your castle in the game. You will need to pay this each time you place a new Relocation Heart.
Before starting the relocation, it's worth finding a spot that will meet your long-term goals. Pay attention to the evenness of the surface and resource availability: copper, iron, or quartz — depending on how far you've progressed in the game and what resources you'll need.
Those who enjoy or, conversely, don't like participating in PvP often look for convenient defensive locations, while PvE players prioritize a central position for ease of travel and world exploration. Once you find a suitable area, clear it of unnecessary objects: remove trees, stones, and other obstacles that might hinder construction.
Once the site is ready:
1) Open the build menu;
2) Go to the Foundations section;
3) Place the Castle Relocation Heart.
Think of it as an anchor point for your new castle. After placing it, interact with it and choose the option to connect it to your current castle. A map will appear on the screen with all active castle hearts — select the one you want to relocate.
Your old castle won't fly into the air or move physically. Instead, the system works more practically. After connecting, all building elements of the old base — floors, walls, workbenches, processing stations, decor, etc. — will become available in your build menu. You can place them at the new location without additional costs. It's as if you've received a complete blueprint of your castle right in your hands.
This is also a great opportunity to rethink your layout. Maybe the old castle was too cramped or inconvenient. Now you have a chance to build it smarter, using the same materials. If you don't plan to recreate everything — don't worry: everything you don't move will be automatically dismantled. All materials, including chest contents, will be transferred to Travel Bags, accessible in a special container at the new base.
Once you've placed all the necessary elements, interact with the Relocation Heart again to confirm the relocation completion. The castle will be considered fully relocated, and all unused objects will be returned to Travel Bags. This includes workbenches, floors, walls, and even items from chests or containers. Nothing is lost in the process, so you can rebuild everything gradually or all at once.
Tips for a Smooth Relocation
Before placing the Relocation Heart, make sure the new location has enough free space. Although the system is quite flexible, uneven or cramped terrain will complicate placing large rooms or entire wings of the castle. Also, remember that each new Castle Relocation Heart requires Blood Essence. Prepare in advance to avoid delays during the castle relocation.
So, in summary, here's a final reminder of how to relocate your castle in V Rising:
