If you've explored Krafton's inZOI for a bit, you may have noticed the many pet-related items in the game. In Build Mode, there's a "Pets" category that includes various cat-related items, such as a Cat Wheel and Cat Scratcher. So, does this mean inZOI has pets?
The biggest rival of inZOI, Electronic Arts' The Sims franchise, has an expansion pack dedicated to pet adoptions and pet interactions, so having a similar feature in inZOI would certainly be impressive.

Unfortunately, inZOI doesn't currently offer the option to adopt pets - at least, not yet. The scattered pet-related items around the open world may suggest that the inZOI Studio is preparing for this kind of expansion in the future.
While the presence of cat-themed clutter might be confusing at first, it seems to have been added for aesthetic purposes or as a deliberate hint for players. While this may be a disappointment for pet lovers, you can still add animals to your city! Yes, this is a feature available in inZOI.
How to Add Animals in inZOI?
In inZOI’s Early Access, you can select multiple animal species and let them loiter around the parks and streets of your city. To add animals, click the Edit City button on the bottom-right bar (if you haven’t changed your UI) or simply press [M] on your keyboard.

Next, click on City Appearance then head to the Animals tab. You will have a selection of animals that you can add into your world. The options are cats, dogs, pandas, deer, racoons, squirrels, foxes, and crocodiles. However, there’s a maximum selection of only three types of animals that you can add to your world.

After selecting an animal, you can adjust their population density. Higher density means there will be more of them in your world. Then, click “Go Back” to return to gameplay and animals of your choice will gradually be popping around your city area. To find them easily, head to parks where them furries (and scalies) often hang around!

While adding animals into your game may sound exciting, you can’t actually interact with them yet. But you can use the opportunity to make your exploration more fun, plus you can take photos with the animals in your background!
