How to Get Medallions in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2

The second season of Fortnite Chapter 6 will continue to allow players to obtain special medallions that provide certain enhancements. These are special items that grant unique bonuses to their holders but have a downside — players wearing them become visible on the map to enemies.

Currently, two medallions are available: Unstoppable Medallion and Super Shield Medallion, which drop from the bosses Fletcher Kane and Shogun X, respectively. In this guide, you'll learn how to obtain these medallions and what they offer.

How Medallions Work in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2

Medallions are special trophies that drop after defeating bosses and provide unique abilities to their holders. They don't take up inventory space and are placed in a separate slot, like gold. If a player carrying a medallion is eliminated, the medallion drops and can be picked up by another player.

Players with medallions are marked on the map with an orange or gold circle, making them potential targets for opponents who want to claim their bonuses.

Effects of Medallions

  • Unstoppable Medallion (drops from Fletcher Kane) – increases sprint speed and allows the player to knock back enemies while running.

  • Super Shield Medallion (drops from Shogun X) – creates a Shield Bubble Jr. when the player uses healing items like a Med Kit or Shield Potion, providing temporary protection during healing.

If a player has multiple medallions, their marker on the map becomes more precise, which can be both an advantage and a risk, as they are easier to find and attack.

How to Get the Unstoppable Medallion

To obtain the Unstoppable Medallion in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2, you need to defeat Fletcher Kane, a crime boss who appears in a random hideout on the map. His location can be identified by the wolf icon on the map. He can spawn in the following hideout locations:

  • Masked Meadows
  • Crime City
  • Lonewolf Lair
  • Seaport City
  • Armored Train

We have detailed how to find and breach the hideouts in another guide.

How to Defeat Fletcher Kane and Open the Hideout

To unlock hideouts with the boss, you'll need thermite, which can be found in chests or bags across the map. Place the thermite on the hideout door marked with the wolf icon. You can speed up the process by shooting at weak points on the door with the Plasma Burst Laser. As the hideout opens, NPC guards will spawn and attack you. They have poor aim but can pose a problem if there are many of them.

Fight Fletcher Kane – After unlocking the hideout, the boss will appear and attack you. He has a high health bar and frequently restores his shield, making the fight challenging. During this time, Boss Fletcher Kane may also appear (he spawns in a random hideout). Kane uses ranged combat and aggressive melee attacks. It is best to attack him from a safe distance using a shotgun or assault rifle.

Defeat him and claim rewards – After eliminating Fletcher Kane, you will receive:

  • Unstoppable Medallion (increases sprint speed and allows knockbacks while running)
  • Double Down Pistol (a powerful mythic pistol with high damage)

To make the most of the Unstoppable Medallion, it can be combined with The Kneecapper weapon, which reduces sprint energy costs and increases movement speed. This allows you to move quickly across the map and effectively attack enemies.

How to Get the Super Shield Medallion

The Super Shield Medallion can be obtained by defeating Shogun X, who returns from Chapter 6 Season 1. Unlike Fletcher Kane, he doesn't appear immediately – he can only be found during the fourth storm circle when Shogun’s Arena appears on the map.

Approximately during the fourth storm circle, a red rift tear will appear on the map, signaling the arrival of Shogun’s Arena in a random safe zone. Look for the airlift under the island. Enter it to lift into the air and glide to the arena.

Shogun X has an enormous health reserve and uses several powerful attacks:

  • Fire Oni Heads – slow but extremely dangerous projectiles.
  • Teleportation – the boss frequently changes his position, complicating aim.
  • Sword Attacks – in close combat, Shogun delivers strong sword strikes.

Shoot with long-range weapons like sniper rifles or automatic assault rifles to defeat the boss. From Shogun X, you will receive the following rewards:

  • Super Shield Medallion (creates Shield Bubble Jr. when using healing items)
  • Shogun X’s Fire Oni Mask (a unique item with cosmetic and combat effects)

Since Shogun X appears closer to the end of the game, be prepared for attacks from other players trying to steal the medallion after you weaken the boss.

How to Steal a Medallion from Other Players

If another player already has a medallion, you can still claim it. Their approximate location will be marked on the map with a gold circle. The more medallions a player has, the more precise their position.

How to Take a Medallion from an Opponent

  1. Track the marked player and attack them in a convenient location (for example, on high ground or behind cover).
  2. Wait until they engage in combat with another player to finalize the elimination and claim the reward.
  3. Use powerful weapons (shotguns, explosives) to quickly destroy them.
