The Fortnite collaboration with "Star Wars" has given fans one of the most intriguing skins in the game's history — Darth Jar Jar. This dark version of the clumsy Gungan from Naboo looks both amusing and menacing. However, unlike most cosmetics, Darth Jar Jar can't simply be bought in the store for V-Bucks — you'll first need to earn the right to purchase it.

How to Unlock Darth Jar Jar Fortnite

This skin is part of a limited-access shop section called Prove Your Power. This means you can't just enter the store and buy the skin immediately — you must first accumulate a certain amount of XP (experience points) to unlock the ability to purchase each item from the set.

The XP counter for obtaining the skin started on May 17 at 5:00 PM Pacific Time.

To unlock Darth Jar Jar himself, you need to earn 1,280,000 XP. This is approximately 16 levels if you consistently complete the tasks and challenges offered by the game. Once you reach this goal, the skin will become available for purchase for 1,500 V-Bucks.

Darth Jar Jar XP requirements and rewards

As you progress toward the main goal, you can unlock other cosmetic items styled after the dark side of Gungan technology. Each has its own XP requirement. Once you reach the necessary milestone, the item will appear in the relevant section for purchase.

After earning 320,000 XP, Terror of Naboo — a weapon wrap for 500 V-Bucks — becomes available. This is the first step toward your transformation into a Sith. Upon reaching 640,000 XP, you can purchase Sith’s Electropole — a Gungan combat staff infused with dark energy — for 800 V-Bucks. Next, at 960,000 XP, Crimson Booma — an original Gungan accessory in Sith style for 400 V-Bucks — becomes available. Finally, at 1,280,000 XP — the Darth Jar Jar skin itself.

Fortnite Darth Jar Jar XP Guide: How to Earn XP Fast

Earning the required amount of XP in Fortnite can take time, but there are effective ways to speed up this process. The main advice is to focus on weekly and storyline quests in Battle Royale mode. They provide the most XP, and you can often complete several tasks in one match.

In LEGO Fortnite, steady gameplay yields about 30,000 XP every half hour. This is a slower but more relaxed way to accumulate XP. In the Fortnite Festival and Creative modes, weekly challenges are also available that don't require much effort but provide a good XP boost. If you find a Creative map you enjoy, playing on it will be both effective and enjoyable.

It's also worth visiting all NPCs and named locations on the current season's map — this is an additional XP source. Don't ignore time-limited events and modes tied to the Star Wars season. They often contain additional activities with increased XP.

Classic Jar Jar Skin in Fortnite

If the dark side isn't your style, Fortnite also offers a classic Jar Jar Binks skin. It doesn't require unlocking through XP — it's immediately available in the store. The skin itself costs 1,500 V-Bucks, or you can get the full set for 2,000 V-Bucks.

The set includes Gungan Booma (back bling), Gungan Atlatl (pickaxe), and Atlatl Spark (weapon wrap). All these items can also be purchased separately if you want to choose just one.
