Memory Locket is a special item in Hollow Knight: Silksong that allows you to unlock additional slots for tools on a chosen Crest. Each locket opens one slot of a specific color: red for offensive tools, blue for defensive ones, and yellow for exploration. Keep in mind that the locket only applies to a particular Crest, so you’ll need to spend new medallions for each one.
How to Use Memory Locket
To activate the locket, sit on a bench and open the Crest menu. In this menu, you’ll see locked circles — these are potential slots. Hovering over one reveals its color, which determines the type of tool it can hold. To unlock the slot, press and hold the interaction button. The Memory Locket will be consumed, and the slot will become available, allowing you to equip a tool of the appropriate type.

Where to Find Memory Locket
You can obtain these medallions in several ways:
- Shops: Mort in Far Fields sells one Memory Locket for 150 Rosaries, while Frey in Bellhart offers another for 330 Rosaries after the battle with the Widow.
- Exploration: In Hunter’s March, one medallion can be found on a corpse near the path to the Chapel of the Beast. Another lies in Greymoor, after the Moorwing arena — simply head right, pass through the fan, and explore the upper section of the room.
- Quests: Completing the Volatile Flintbeetle quest in Bone Bottom rewards you with a Memory Locket.

Tips for Use
It’s recommended to use your first Memory Locket on the Hunter Crest, as it’s often the starting one and provides a big advantage early on. Also, don’t rush to spend all your lockets at once — it’s better to wait until you unlock multiple Crests so you can distribute your resources more strategically.
