A Raccoon is a Divine-tiered pet that was added as a part of the ongoing Lunar Glow Event, along with Hedgehog, Mole, Frog, Echo Frog, Owl and Night Owl. While there are a lot of exciting rewards up for grabs, players are more excited to get their hands on the little stripe-tailed animal.

Inspired by its real-life counterpart, Raccoons in Grow a Garden can steal fruits from other players’ gardens and give it to you. This was the first pet that can take crops from other players in the game. Currently, we also have the Red Fox which differs slightly from the Raccoon.

Here is how you can obtain this event-exclusive pet and everything that you need to know about it.

How To Get a Raccoon

Like most pets, a Raccoon can’t simply be bought or gained in any of the shops. It can only be obtained through hatching the Night Egg or the Premium Night Egg.

To get the Premium Night Egg, you can buy it from the event’s stand located in the middle of the game for 199 Robux. You can also buy 3 eggs for 575 Robux and 10 eggs for 1699 Robux. Meanwhile, a Night Egg can be bought for 15 000 000 sheckles from only the Blood Moon Shop- the shop that only appears whenever a Blood Moon occurs. There is also a chance for the Night Egg to not be in stock.

However, the chances are far greater for you to receive the Night Egg for free by joining the Lunar Glow Event. Simply trade in some Moon Mutated Fruits for Lunar Points at the event’s stand. By the time you complete the event, you would have received a total of 13 Night Eggs.

The Night Egg will take 4 hours and 10 minutes to hatch while the Premium Night Egg only takes 30 seconds. Having pets that can reduce the hatch time of eggs like Chicken, Rooster or Kiwi will be useful here. When the egg is ready to hatch, you can hold (E) to hatch it. 

For the Night Egg, there is a 0.12% chance for you to get the Raccoon while the Premium Night Egg increases the chance to 1%. If you do manage to get a Raccoon, equip it and release it in your garden to let the stealing commence.

• Trait: every 14:57 minutes, goes to another player’s plot and steals (duplicate) a random fruit and gives it to you
• Pros: can steal rare crops, including event exclusive crops
• Cons: often pick low-value crops from a garden in public servers (used strategically in private servers, this con is non-existent)
