Potion brewing is a common mechanic in RPGs, and RuneScape: Dragonwilds is no exception. The skill of brewing potions allows you to create various concoctions that enhance your skills, empower your character, or provide resistance to certain types of threats. Therefore, mastering this mechanic and knowing how to brew potions in Dragonwilds is essential.

How to Unlock the Potion Brewing Cauldron in RS: Dragonwilds
You won't be able to brew potions right from the start. First, you need to create a cauldron, which will allow you to engage in potion brewing. To do this, you need to gather several resources to craft the cauldron, specifically:
- 16 Ash Logs
- 6 Coarse Threads
- 10 Rune Essences
- 6 units of Clay
Obtaining clay might be the most challenging part. It can be found in the Whispering Swamp location (the third main biome in the game), where this resource is most frequently found. If a clay vein is depleted, wait some in-game time for it to respawn.
Once you have gathered all the materials, switch to building mode (default — B key on the keyboard) and place the cauldron in the desired spot. Remember, it can only be placed indoors with a roof overhead!

Necessary Equipment for Potion Crafting
A cauldron alone won't suffice. You need a few more tools for the craft of potion brewing. First and foremost, you need a Kiln and a Pottery Wheel. These become available automatically once you collect the first samples of clay.
To build an industrial Kiln, you need the following components:
- x8 Ash Logs
- x20 Stones
- x6 Clay
- x10 Fire Runes

The Pottery Wheel allows you to shape useful items from clay. The most important for potion brewing are clay vessels, as most concoctions are stored in them. First, create unbaked vessels, then fire them in the kiln. You can also make charcoal from wood there — the main fuel for potion brewing.

How to Start Brewing Potions in RuneScape: Dragonwilds
Once you have built the cauldron, have fuel, and vessels — you can start brewing potions. The cauldron interface has four slots: three for ingredients and one for fuel. To prepare a potion, you need to combine an herb, an additional ingredient (such as a fruit or resource), and a clay vessel. Place charcoal in the center.

One of the simplest beginner recipes is a Weak Healing Potion. Combine Redberries, Harralander, and a clay vessel. Add charcoal — and you'll get a basic potion that restores some lost health. Harralander is a plant that grows in Whispering Swamp, usually near trees and on dry patches. Redberries can be found in several regions, making this one of the easiest recipes.

Where to Find Potion Ingredients
Most ingredients for potions and concoctions can be found in the biomes around Bramblemead Valley and Whispering Swamp. Various herbs, such as Marrentill and Harralander, grow near trees or rocks. The rarer Snapdragon can be found deeper in the Blightwood swamp. Each region has its unique plants, and the further you travel, the more potent the potions can be.
