How to Complete The Jackal in Dune: Awakening

To unlock The Jackal, you first need to complete the Water Fat quest. Afterward, speak with the character Elara Tuek. She will give you an intermediate objective called The Last Target, which will lead you to your main target — the Jackal.

Where to Find the Jackal

The Jackal is hiding in Jackal’s Alley, located in Arrakeen — the game's social hub. To get there:

  • Look for the stairs leading to the lower levels of the city.
  • Turn right.
  • Enter the opening in the wall — this is the entrance to Jackal’s Alley.

Important: This mission can only be completed in solo mode. Being in a group will block quest progression.

How to Collect the Three Keywords

To initiate the dialogue with the Jackal, you must find three characters in the alley and learn the secret words from them:

  • The Wolf is at the entrance. He gives you a riddle — the correct answer is "seek."
  • The Beggar is mute but uses gestures to hint at the word "footprint."
  • The Vulture sits by a campfire. Greet him using "Felicity", and he will reveal the third word: "worm."

What to Say to the Jackal

After gathering all three words, go to the spot indicated by The Beggar. There, you'll find the Jackal. To activate the main part of the quest, say the phrase: “I seek the footprints of the worm.”

This triggers a cutscene in which the Jackal tells you his story. He will ask you to kill him. Regardless of the choices you make in dialogue, the outcome remains the same — the mission ends.

Mission Reward

Upon completion, you’ll receive a unique headgear item — Jackal’s Blindfold, which grants +15% poison resistance. More than that, The Jackal is one of the most atmospheric missions in the game, exploring deeper themes within the Dune universe.

The Jackal combines exploration, logic, moral dilemmas, and elements of social drama. It’s not just a target-elimination quest — it’s a journey into the dark depths of Arrakeen, a city where even street philosophy can turn deadly.
